This week is National Volunteer Week, and we'd like to take the opportunity to thank all our amazing volunteers.

Those volunteering for MND NSW help in a wide range of ways - they assist at our Walk to Defeat MND events, host MND stalls, act as MND NSW ambassadors, help out in and around our office, and at other events for our carers and people living with MND. We'd like to say a big thank you to them all for their fantastic efforts and commitment to supporting us and our MND community.

There are many reasons our volunteers continue to help us and hope others choose to do the same, these are some of them:

  • "Any help I can provide to ensure that people with MND and their families continue to receive the support they need is important to me."
    -Rita Mir

  • "This is a great organisation that does great work and needs and appreciates any help anyone can give."
    -Claire Holloway

  • “My father died from MND and I wanted to help in some small way to assist in bringing awareness to the community and also raise money for MND NSW. It’s a very worthwhile cause.”
    -Jill Paton
  • “It’s important to continue to raise awareness and funds, not only in memory of my Dad but for everyone else who has been or will be affected by the disease. It’s good to know that you don’t always need money to make a difference, you can volunteer your time.”
    - Amanda Cornell

  • "Volunteers play a very important role in supporting MND NSW by assisting in the Gladesville Office, assisting at Walks and on stalls. I would recommend volunteering to anyone in the position to help. Not only are you supporting a very valuable cause, but there are so many benefits you will get for yourself, making new friends, developing a sense of purpose, learning new skills and a very positive boost to your wellbeing. Volunteering is a very rewarding experience."
    - Susan Allaburton
