Wheelchair accessible beaches in Australia

Surf clubs and local councils across Australia are increasingly focusing on ways to improve every day inclusion and access to open up their beaches and clubhouses to everyone in their community.

The organisation Accessible Beaches keeps an online directory of Australian accessible beaches at www.accessiblebeaches.com. It also works with surf clubs, councils and the broader community to explore opportunities that will help increase access and inclusion at a beach and club. This is done through site visits, user access reviews, beach access days, inclusion and access presentations and providing general information around available equipment, best practice signage and communication, training and support.
