Ten national peak not-for-profit health organisations (making up the Neurological Alliance Australia (NAA)) are calling for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to transform the lives of over 850,000 Australians living with progressive neurological or neuromuscular conditions that have no known cause and no cure, outlined in a Joint Position Paper, People with progressive neurodegenerative diseases in the NDIS, launched 22 March 2017 at Parliament House Canberra.

Assistive Technology Australia at http://at-aust.org/ is the new name for the previously called Independent Living Centre of NSW (www.ilcnsw.asn.au). Assistive Technology Australia is a not for profit, community based organisation and it continues to provide impartial information, advice and training on assistive technology (aids and equipment).

Does the person you care for have an NDIS plan? Do you want to talk about your experiences? The Carers NSW Policy Team wants to hear from you! You are invited to attend one of two focus groups in Campbelltown in the last week of March. 

People with dementia and their carers are invited to participate in a research project being conducted by Alzheimer’s Australia NSW. This research aims to explore the changes in relationships, both social and intimate that occur following the diagnosis of dementia.

The Carnarvon Golf Club in Lidcombe hosted a Charity Golf Day in March with $7,737.25 raised from the event donated to MND NSW. Despite the rain it was a fantastic day enjoyed by all who attended. Thank you to the organisers, the many sponsors, the Carnarvon Golf Club and everyone who attended and provided their support.
