Family and friends came together to enjoy an afternoon tea which also included an Ice Bucket Challenge! Mary said of their afternoon tea, “my family and friends put on a fundraiser for MND. My nanna passed away from it and we all feel very strongly about it. We had 80 people for afternoon tea and we raised $4,493. Thank you so much to everyone who came today! It was incredible and we all had a fantastic time!”

The NSW Government Taxi Transport Subsidy Scheme (TTSS) provides people with disability a half-price fare. On 1 July 2016 the maximum subsidy increased from $30 per trip to $60 per trip. “Cleared up some doubts”, was one participant’s comment after the MND NSW Ask the Experts Forum at West Ryde in August. This Forum, held annually, aims to provide people with MND, their family and friends the opportunity to hear from experts in the fields of MND research and neurology and to ask questions.
