If so we will look forward to seeing you at An Information Day for Members and Families to be held at Port Macquarie on 4 December.

What you will learn

By the end of the day you will know more about

• motor neurone disease and recent trends in MND research
• managing physical aspects of MND and maintaining independence
• managing communication and swallowing difficulties
• accessing important support services.

You will also have the opportunity to

• contribute to MND research by giving a DNA sample
• ask questions
• share ideas and experiences with others in a similar situation.

You can donate your DNA at the Information Day

The MND DNA Bank has been set up to look for genetic susceptibility to all forms of motor neurone disease. People with MND, their partners, friends and family can contribute samples.

All that is needed is a routine blood and hair sample and, from some people, a cheek swab. If you have previously donated blood to the MND DNA Bank, you do not need to donate again. If you wish to be a donor let us know when you register. Your details will then be passed to the MND DNA Bank so you can be booked in to donate on the day, receive consent forms and other information.
