Information resources for health and community care professionals

MND NSW publishes and distributes leaflets, information sheets, booklets, books, DVDs, and a quarterly member newsletter. Many of these publications are available free online for you to read, print or download. For health and community care professionals, these resources include the MND Equipment Loan Form and list, booklet for general practitioners, information for residential care facilties and MND NSW Special Interest Group membership form.

www.mndcare.net.au is a new ‘one-stop shop' website about motor neurone disease for primary, allied, palliative, aged, disability and community care professionals. MNDcare gives access to latest evidence based and best practice MND symptom management and support information as soon as a need arises. The website includes state specific referral pathways to assist in identifying health professionals and services to meet the identified needs of patients with MND. The aim of the website is to facilitate and promote best practice coordinated, multidisciplinary MND care for all people with a diagnosis of MND in Australia especially in regional, rural and remote areas.

Education, workshops and conferences

MND NSW conducts education and information sessions on request for groups of health and community care professionals throughout NSW and in the ACT. MND related workshops and conferences provide the opportunity for health and community care professionals to hear the latest in MND research, enhance their skills and knowledge and meet with others working in similar roles.
